ABOUT
I Imagine, I experiment, I design
Sara Khumayis is a freelance graphic designer born in Jeddah Saudi Arabia. She earned her bachelors degree from Dar Al Hekma University in Jeddah. She got her masters degree from Suffolk University in Boston.
Sara has tremendous love for Arabic typography and lettering. She is very much inspired by Marian Bantjes, Tarik Atrissi, and Nadine Shahine -- world famous typographers. She was also influenced greatly by the project “typographic matchmaking in the city” which was done by the Khatt Foundation. For her thesis project,
Sara wanted to do something different with typography, something that speaks to more than one culture. She worked with both English and Arabic letters and created her own new unique and universal forms under wāw project.
Sara is also a book designer. She designed lots of books such as "A Tea Party At Cinderella's Palace” by the author Arwa Khumayis. The book was later nominated for the Etisalat Award in the UAE in 2015.
